It has been business as usual in the mens singles at the Australian Open in Melbourne with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray all reaching the semi-finals. Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer are locked in battle at the time of writing in the remaining quarter-final and so the number of upsets at this years event have been minimal. But a high power line up in the semi-finals will be fantastic for the tournament.

All eyes with be on the Nadal vs Federer semi-final and this is the first time since 2005 that they have faced each other in a slam semi-final. In fact the recent spat between the two players has been shaping up to turn into a full scale rift and that is sure to add vital spice to the match. Because these two great players have been ranked one and two for so long then they simply don't get to meet in semi-finals but with Federer now being ranked number 3 then things are a little different.

So Andy Murray has the chance to get to his fourth Grand Slam final by not having to play Federer or Nadal but can that be easy when you have to beat in all likelihood the world number one in Novak Djokovic? This is where the tournament really starts and although Murray will be the outsider of the four simply because he doesn't have a slam win to his name, it will be interesting to see if his mental work with Ivan Lendl is paying off.
