There are many ways to be “professional” at something. Turning professional isnt the same as “being” professional. An amateur could in fact be very professional in how they operate. I suppose that if someone was betting sports for a living then they would not only be a professional but they would act professional too.
I don’t have a large number of sports bets per year and when I do, they usually stem from some sort of information that I have been given. However, knowing the process is key to being able to make money betting sports and it is also something that you dont mind talking about as the level of competition between the betting firms indicates that you can usually find value somewhere.
But one of the things that I am going to talk about a lot in this section will be in how sports betting is now probably 90% preparation and 10% operation. In fact the percentage is probably less than that as it does not take all that long to actually make a bet. The overwhelming majority of the time, you are simply doing research or in some cases…..nothing at all.
It is almost like going into battle, you carefully select your times of confrontation and also who your enemy is. In this aspect it is also like poker, around a poker table there are certain types of hands that you just don’t want to play against certain players. This is for the simple reason being that you know that they are capable of making certain plays and moves against you that other players are not.
So you carefully choose your enemy and just like in warfare, you also choose your times of confrontation too. Once again using the poker analogy…..you would fold an 8-4 even against a novice so in this instance, you have chosen your enemy but also been selective inyour time of confrontation too.
Sports betting successfully is exactly like this and this is why you need to prepare first and foremost and even over preparing is no bad thing.
