It was England versus The Netherlands in the semi-finals of the BDO World Darts Championships yesterday and it will be England vs The Netherlands in the final. Tony O'Shea defeated young Wesley Harms in a nail biting match that went all the way to the wire before O'Shea won through 6-5. It will provide O'Shea with what could be his final chance of winning the big one in Darts.

His opponent will be the very impressive Christian Kist who yesterday came back from 5-3 down to beat two time world champion Ted Hankey in a rather controversial match. Hankey was clearly trying to slow the game down and take Kist away from his normal fast paced play. After Kist led 2-1 in sets then Hankey took charge of the match winning four out of the next five sets that were played.

But Hankey is volatile and was visibly upset by several key issues affecting the match and also his involvement with the BDO and their rival organisation the PDC. Hankey easily lost set nine 3-0 and had darts to win it in set ten before basically throwing the match away in the final set. Kist looks a champion if he can hold his nerve but it will be interesting to see if O'Shea tries the same tactics as Hankey and looks to slow the game down. Will be a fascinating final for sure.
