Martin Adams looks in ominous form to add a fourth BDO world title to his list of honours as he has impressively reached the last eight. The tournament so far though hasn't been without its upsets and two of the favourites were beaten last night. Scott Waites lost an epic match to two time champion Ted Hankey 4-3. Waites looked to have one foot in the last eight when he hed Hankey 3-2 but vintage darts from "The Count" pulled him back from the brink.

Last years losing finalist Dean Winstanley was also beaten 4-3 by Alan Norris. Winstanly was many peoples bet to go all the way this year after coming so close last year but he simply didn't produce the darts when he had to. Martin Adams though has the belief and the confidence in his game now to go all the way once again and he will take some stopping.

Adams isn't just a giant of a man but an absolute giant of the BDO. The players who look likely to stop him could come from a very small group and Tony O'Shea has got the game to do just that as has Ted Hankey. But for anyone looking for an outside bet at this years event then the new young player from The Netherlands in Wesley Harms could go all the way to the final similar to what Jelle Klaasen did a few years ago.
