Chelsea go into their big crunch game against Manchester City on the back of two very impressive 3-0 victories. They beat a Newcastle side that have been hugely impressive this season and then followed that up with an excellent victory at home to Valencia. It may be a little too early to talk of turning things around at Stamford Bridge but if Chelsea get another positive result here against their biggest title rivals then it could be the sign of good things to come.

City have come off the back of a good result against Bayern Munich even though they tasted Champions League elimination. Manchester United will be hoping that Chelsea beat City or at least take a draw from them as they entertain Wolves and will be hoping to close the 5pt gap.One thing is certain though and if City win at Stamford Bridge after crushing United 6-1 at Old Trafford then this could be the biggest indication yet of the title credentials of the blue half of Manchester.

For Chelsea then this has to be their last chance to stake a claim for the title this season. They trail City by 10pts and if that stays at 10pts or increases to 13pts by the end of this game then you would have to say that Chelsea's challenge this term is over. So they need to get a victory for sure but it will need an improved performance from some of their big name players who have been playing below capacity this season to take all three points.
