Everything is coming out now

So Fabio Capello gets to keep his £6 million a year job with England but could the FA really afford to sack him? The problems could go much deeper though and my hopes are not high for the next 2012 Euro's. Our current crop of players are going to be two years older and will definitely be damaged goods so to speak.
Players like Lampard, Terry, Gerrard etc have under performed at several tournaments and could we dare risk them again. Gerrard will be 34 come the next World Cup and with the energy levels that he puts into his game then 34 is just too old to play at that level and especially what will be the heat of Brazil.
So in my mind our next serious go at a major tournament has to be the 2016 Euro's and then the 2018 World Cup but England need to start preparing now. Capello has admitted to over working the players in the build up and at the World Cup itself. I said during the Algeria game that it looked to me as if the players had played an entire 90 minutes of football the previous day and I wasn't far away from the truth.
It will be interesting to see the attendance figures for England's next game against Hungary in August and see how the fans react to certain things. There are too many games in our calender as it is without having more and more games. But it isn't such a bad thing if the players are playing in positions for England the way that they do for their clubs. Unfortunately though this isn't the case and there are far too many round pegs trying to be fitted into square holes all over the pitch.
