I will be betting on the England vs Switzerland game today and of course I will be avidly watching the game. Will the likes of Rooney, Ferdinand and Carrick have got over their Champions League disappointment last week against Barcelona? I think they will and I caught a clip of them in training on Thursday laughing and joking. It is always worse when you lose a football match when you could have done better. However in that game I just think that United were out matched by a better team and there really wasn’t anything they could do about it. They went out onto the pitch with the managers instructions and plan and it didn’t work. But I do not expect any fallout from that game but it still could be a nervy time for England who really need to win this game to be comfortable in the group. Football betting is hazardous at the best of times and end of season games can be notorious. I have seen far too many football games at the end of the season where England have been turned over. So who do I expect to be European Champions next year? Well it is difficult to go against Spain at the moment but no European team has ever won three consecutive international tournaments. The question is, are Spain more dominant than say Germany from 1972-1976? Or maybe France from 1998-2002 and even these two great sides couldn’t manage that. It is asking a lot for one team to do this as successful teams break up but that doesn’t appear to be the case with Spain and so they will start as short favourites for sure.
