So once again Arsenal fail to step up to the mark when it comes to beating the very best in games that really matter. They are now 5pts behind Chelsea and the Blues play their game in hand against Hull this week. If they win that then its 8pts and then they play Chelsea on Sunday. If they lose that then it really is goodnight for their chances. In fact if Chelsea beat Hull this week then I would say that Arsenal have to win that game. Arsenal play great football and arguably the best in the league but they cannot produce it against the really top sides when it matters and it is now becoming a trend. In fact Arsene Wenger has even admitted that recently that they need to step up to the mark in big games. Well they are not doing it yet and if they fail to do so soon then you can only see another barren season coming their way. I watched that game yesterday and Arsenal were never at the races and that mirrored the Champions League semi-final last year when Arsenal lost by the same scoreline. You have to hand it to Alex Ferguson, keeping Manchester United in this title race for so long minus Ronaldo and Tevez. But for that then you have to give as much credit to Wayne Rooney who is having his best ever season for me at Old Trafford. Although Arsenal are not out of the title race, they have obviously retained their soft under belly and are too weak against powerful sides. So mathematically they are in it but you have to doubt their steel when the going gets tough. Who can forget the big blow up two seasons ago and the William Gallas incident. So it looks like the same old Manchester United and Chelsea thing again and we seem to be waiting for Manchester City to break that dominance now.
