Really enjoyed the AC Milan vs Manchester United game last night and it was an amazing game in so much that after 30 minutes you were amazed that United were still in it. 1-0 down, getting outplayed and making mistakes all over the park. Johnny Evans looked overawed and Nani couldn't deliver a good ball into the penalty area to save his life. Wayne Rooney was becoming increasingly frustrated and he even felt the need to say in the interview afterwards that certain players "were not doing their jobs right" although he obviously didn't say any more than that. When Ronaldinho's deflected shot went in after only 3 minutes then you thought that it was going to be a long night for United. It was amazing that they didn't add to their lead and then the amazing fluke by Paul Scholes brought United level. The second half and it was almost as if we were not watching the same match. At 3-1 down then Milan were on the verge of losing the tie last night and they almost snatched it back and scored twice in a minute. Clarence Seedorf who came on as a substitute for Beckham after 71 minutes steered in a cross to make it 3-2 after 85 minutes and then a minute later, Inzaghi should have scored and blazed wide. The result sets up a new European record for United for the most away games without defeat. It also banishes their poor record in the San Siro against AC Milan as well. In four previous encounters they have lost 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 and 4-0. I said yesterday that this tie could go either way and United could have been dead and three or four down at half-time. I wouldn't rule Milan out just yet but winning by two goals at Old Trafford will be very difficult now. Real Madrid put in a sub par performance last night going down 1-0 away to Lyon in the other game. They will be also grateful that they are still in the tie going back to the Bernabeu. See you soon Carl
