Can India maintain their dominance?

Cricket | 10-12-11

The 5th One Day International takes place in Chennai on Sunday 11th December with India leading the series 3-1 after largely outplaying the West Indies. India were big favourites going into this series after their hugely impressive showing in this years World Cup where they ended it by beating Sri Lanka in the final to become World Champions.

So it was very difficult to envisage anything other than a home victory in this series and it is also difficult to see the West Indies winning here in Chennai. The impressive Indian batting line up scored a huge 418-5 from their 50 overs in the last match which secured yet another one day victory. But apart from the first match where the West Indies only recorded a score of 211 then by and large they have been recording good totals.

A score of around 260-270 is a decent score in 50 overs cricket but not if you are playing the World Champions who seem to have little trouble these days reaching 300. Being bowled out for a sub par 244 in the third match of the series was the only blip on what has been a hugely impressive Indian performance.
