With the greatest respect to the other clubs that are involved this week, it appears that the tie of the week in the Champions League will take place between Napoli and Manchester City. The title pretenders in England had yet another good win in the league on Saturday when they comfortably dispatched Newcastle United 3-1 at the Etihad Arena.

Napoli away though promises to be a sterner test and apart from the 3-0 win away to Villarreal then City have been somewhat hit and miss in this competition so far. After they were held at home by Napoli then they dare not lose this fixture and the atmosphere promises to be electric.

The battle for second place now looks like it is going to be between these two clubs and City do not want to be going into their final game against Bayern Munich at home needing a win to stay alive. I do expect City not to get beaten but European football is totally different to league football and City are short of European experience at this time and so the tie is very interesting indeed.
